MarketWatch: 5 Ways to Improve Magazine Web Sites

December 4, 2007 11:21 AM Posted by mac

While clanging the print/magazine death bell, MarketWatch columnist Jon Friedman offers five tips for Web-based resurrection:
  1. "Have almost as many graphics and design experts as writers on staff."

  2. "Let your reporters explain HOW they covered big news, and give them an opportunity to tell their stories."

  3. "Make the sites as interactive as possible."

  4. "Don't simply report the story on the Internet -- give such information as a chronology."

  5. "If editors or reporters are ambivalent about or hostile to the Web ... don't let them corrupt your site with their lethargy or disapproval."
