ESPNU Enlists Colleges For Student-Generated Sports Coverage(paidContent.org)
Is this SGC instead of UGC? No matter -- the big news is that ESPNU is tapping college journalists for content.
From paidContent.org:I usually have a problem with major news/entertainment organizations sucking free content from its audience, but this initiative is unique because it benefits both sides: ESPNU gets fresh material while up-and-coming sports reporters acquire experience and portfolio clips."The network is looking for students to provide clips featuring play-by-play and analyst commentary, sideline reporting and producing televised events on ESPNU. Additionally, the content will be used across all ESPN channels and sites, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN360.com, and ESPN magazine as well. At least initially, ESPNU will hand out coverage assignments to the schools."
Palm can't execute; The downside of Centro

I used to love Palm. I owned the III and the Tungsten C and the Treo 650.
But these days, Palm just can't get it together. Larry Dignan from ZDNet sums it up best:
"The company habitually fails to get its products certified on schedule and often falls short of expectations."The beginning of the end (for me) was the ill-conceived, god-awful, what-the-hell-were-they-thinking Foleo. Palm wisely pulled the plug on this abomination, but the misgivings were already in place -- what kind of company would ever think the Foleo was a good idea?
So, goodbye Palm. Maybe someday you'll stage an Apple-esque turnaround and we'll meet again.
