Today, Microsoft is taking the wraps off its tabletop display product -- formerly dubbed PlayTable -- and renaming it Microsoft Surface.
From the Surface official site:

"Surface features a 30-inch tabletop display whose unique abilities allow for several people to work independently or simultaneously. All without using a mouse or a keyboard."

Surface is targeted at retail and entertainment businesses, reports the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Pete Thompson, general manager of Microsoft Surface Computing, says it would retail in the $5,000-$10,000 range for consumers -- if it was available to consumers.

Surface looks very cool, but I can already see an entirely new form of arthritis on the horizon.
