Editing: Richard Roth's 100 Most Common Usage ErrorsTest your wordy ways with this excellent compilation of common usage errors. This site reminds me of the phenomenal copy editing courses I took as an undergrad. The countless AP Style drills I endured have served me well throughout my journalism career.
Marketing, Blogging Blogging for Effective Marketing (Business Week)
"It's often a better idea to blog about the lifestyle that surrounds a product than about the product itself. The editorial draws in a larger audience, and the blog doesn't end up reading like a sales pitch." -- Teresa Valdez Klein of the Blog Business Summit.
The "lifestyle" hook is something I encounter quite a bit in the consumer electronics world (I'm an editor for ElectronicHouse.com), but I rarely see it mentioned in blogging -- and I don't know why. "Lifestyle" is something people inherently understand and care about, yet the big buzzword in business blogging is "transparency." I'm all for honest dialogue, but the next stage of business blogging should build upon the transparency foundation with lifestyle, entertainment, storytelling and other "human" reference points.
