del.icio.us: Grassroots Publicity Tool
I like del.icio.us for two reasons:
- Its spartan design is elegant and easy to use.
- It's the only useful .us site I've ever seen.
<a href="http://del.icio.us/post?url=<$MTEntryPermalink$>&title= <$MTEntryTitle encode_html="1"$>¬es=<$MTEntryExcerpt encode_html="1"$>">Add to del.icio.us</a>
Here's how the pieces break down:
- MTEntryPermalink: This is (duh) the full URL for the individual entry. When added to the string, the URL for the post will auto-populate the del.icio.us URL field.
- MTEntryTitle: This is the post headline. It will automatically show up in the del.icio.us "description" field.
- MTEntryExcerpt: This is the post's deck/excerpt. I had to fool around with the string a bit to get this to work, but if you create excerpts for each of your posts, you can make the excerpt automatically appear in the "notes" portion of del.icio.us.

Thanks! This was a big help for me. I just implemented it on my individual pages over at TwitterLit.com.
