Technorati Hates Me

April 1, 2006 1:56 PM Posted by mac

I know it's anathema to diss Technorati, but I can't hold back anymore. Maybe I just have bad luck, but most of my Technorati experiences are spoiled by "high volume" errors or, when it does work, incredibly slow response time.

Moreover, the Claim Blog mechanism is clunky at best. I've wasted far too many hours trying to set up Technorati claims only to have the service crap out. Am I the only this has happened to? Am I cursed by some sort of evil Technorati voodoo that prevents me from using the site correctly?

Believe me, I understand Technorati is performing a high-wire act with every search. It's combing through a stunning amount of data that's continually being updated. It's a miracle it works at all.

But still ...

Technorati is a go-to site for the blogosphere. As such, its beta-like quirks needs to be replaced by sheer horsepower and effectiveness. There's just no time for time outs.

Herein ends my bitching. Thanks for listening. -- Mac Slocum
