When did "Blog" Become Synonymous with "Article"?
During my daily perusing of entertainment news (yeah, I'm a deep guy), I ran across this sentence from TV Guide: "According to the Associated Press, the Syriana star [George Clooney] is hoppin' mad that Arianna Huffington posted a Democrat-criticizing blog on her website Monday that led folks to believe he was its author."On my other sites I'd be apt to discuss the Clooney connection, but my Webby radar latched on to this particular phrase:
posted a Democrat-criticizing blogNow, I'm often a little slow to catch on to crazy new things, but at what point did people start using the word "blog" in place of "article" or "post"? In my mind, a blog is a site or a publishing tool or even a publishing technique. Blogs contain articles/posts -- they don't contain other blogs (unless it's a primary blog with sub-blogs ... but let's not go down that route).
Am I wrong? Is it correct to call a blog post a blog? When I blog about blogging am I, in essence, posting a blog on a blog?
