Remembering the Worst of the Web Fads

October 10, 2005 12:05 PM Posted by mac

Sean Carton at Publish.com has an awesomely snarky review of 10 Web Fads. Anyone who once surfed the Web on an old-school modem will get a laugh out of the nonsense we used to deal with.

Incidentally, Carton does a nice job expanding beyond the typical "List O' Dumb Things." He uses these 10 trends -- which include splash pages, portals and those weird "page counters" -- to warn publishers of fad perils. Just because something is trendy, doesn't make it good. -- Mac Slocum
