How to Change the Background in Flash

  1. Open Flash and create a new file (File > New)

  2. You should see something like this in front of you:

  3. Look down toward the bottom of the screen and find the Properties box. This box allows you to manipulate basic settings in Flash, such as the size of the screen, the color of the background and the frame rate. In this tutorial, we're going to keep the Size, Publish and Frame Rate elements set to their defaults. The one thing we're going to change is the background color.

    In the properties box, click on the colored square next to "Background." A color palette will pop up. Place your cursor over any of the colors to select that color.

  4. Your background should now be the color you selected:
